Back in the mid 90s to early 2000s I used to be an active shortwave radio listener. Outside of the shortwave radio broadcasters, I enjoyed listening to the amateurs on HF.
One day I came across a group of what I’d call renegade operators. By this I mean that they regularly used vulgar language and were known to criticize the ARRL. In fact I seem to recall that they were part of some amateur radio hobbyist group they started. I want to say that most of the operators were near the eastern coast of the US. For the life of me I cannot recall what band they operated on or what the name of this possible group was.
Is anyone familiar with who I am speaking about and if they’re still active? If so please post a comment. I’d appreciate any help you can offer.
