My name is Ryan and I was born and raised in Long Island in the state of New York .I am a radio hobbyist whose interests include scanner, shortwave and amateur radio. My interest started in the early 90s after I purchased a Uniden BC142XL 10 channel scanner after a friend of mine turned me on to it. I quickly gained an interest in listening amateur radio (2 meters). I eventually discovered an amateur radio net covering the scanner and shortwave hobbies. As a result of this net I purchased my first shortwave radio which was a DAK DMR3000.
