Several times a year I get a voicemail from more than one unknown number about my cars warranty.
This is a transcript of the partial message that was received: “…about your car’s extended warranty. Since we have not gotten a response we are giving you a final courtesy call before we close out your file. Press two to be removed and put on our do not call list. Press one to speak with someone about possibly extending or reinstating your car is warrantee.Again press one to speak with a warranty specialist. Or call 800 number 833-304-1447…”
Oh no! You mean the extended warranty on a mystery car I purchased is about to expire? I don’t want that to happen. But at the same token, I’m not even sure what type of car this could be. I certainly hope it’s a Yugo from the mid 80s. I mean that would a dream came true since those were kick ass cars.
Come on now, who the hell do these telemaggoters think they’re fooling? It’s obviously a scam call that I am never going to fall for. So they can keep calling and I will continue to ignore them.
For what it’s worth, I suspect these calls are related to the car my mother purchased several years ago. I let her use my cellular number on the application and didn’t think too much of it at the time. About a year I started receiving these calls about my car warranty. Sadly they must be successful to an extent or they wouldn’t continue to happen.
The calls I’ve received lately are all from numbers using same area code as mine. It seems obvious to me that the numbers are spoofed. The use of local area codes show just how desperate these operations are. Blocking them might be a solution if it wasn’t for the fact that it’s never from the same number.
When comes to calls from unfamiliar numbers just ignore them. Especially if they are using the same area code prefix as yours. They aren’t worth the time of day. If they leave a voicemail than save it and share with others as a warning. If you must put in a short video to help get the message out.
