Earlier this year I decided to give Twitter another shot. When I created the account I thought using my Apple account would make it more convenient. I figured the biggest advantage is that I don’t have to worry about forgetting my password. Instead I’d just use my ugly face to sign in. Well I would soon come to regret that option.
After a month or two I found myself growing bored with it. So I tried to close the account and discovered it wasn’t all that easy. In fact it’s darn near impossible to close it. So I tried deactivating the account without luck. Then I tried changing the password and got nowhere.
It seems that you’re assigned a unique password along with some offbeat email address connected to my Apple account. I was able to find the email address but the password is something else. So I figured I’ll just use the account until I can find a way to close it.
Unfortunately I allowed myself to fall into to my old habit of discussing politics. The only difference this time is that I was discussing the events of other countries. I must of have thought it was different this time since I wasn’t talking about the politics of my own country. But in the end it was still politics.
Some time between July and August I took the time to deleting tweets and replies. I even blocked accounts that I didn’t want to deal with. Then toward the end of August I stopped using Twitter.
The original game plan was to return in about a week . It didn’t take very long for me to extend that to September. Now that it’s September I starting to realize that the idea of returning simply doesn’t interest me.
Still I would love to find a way to close the account altogether just to be done with it. But t it doesn’t seem possible. Apple doesn’t seem to have and answer.
