I decided to start the with my intention of reactivating my Facebook account after a three year break. Within the next couple of days I made a number of changes. These changes included unfriending multiple people. I did this for a number of reasons. One particular reason had to do with avoiding politics. Another really had to do with that I really didn’t know them and wanted to keep things to mostly people I knew.
I then unliked and or blocked other pages. Some of them were related to shows I watch or teams I follow. I figure that since I keep up with these shows and by watching them on TV. When it comes to teams I can get the scores from the 11:00 pm news or from a sports app on my phone.
t’s February 22 and so far I’ve only signed in once since making these changes. My game plan is to sign in every three or so months and leave it at that. If all goes according to plan I will be making my first post announcing my return and how I plan to use my account from now on. In fact I make some additional changes while I’m at it.
This brings me to a question that I hope somebody that’s reading this can answer. Does anyone know if it’s possible to change the settings of an account so that you aren’t notified when replies to or likes a comment you made to post on another page? For example, if I comment on post from a media page and I don’t want to be notified every time somebody replies to me or likes my comment? I know this can be done with groups I follow, but I am talking about pages like CBS, NASA, NFL and etc. I honestly don’t need to notifications to my comments on these pages. If you know how this can be done then please add a comment to this post.
I bring this up because YouTube a setting that doesn’t notify about the comments I made to a specific video. I was thrilled that I could comment on a video without being of notified when somebody answered or likes my comment. The only downside is when I comment on a couple of channels I follow. In fact it was so great that I started falling into the old habits I had with Facebook & Twitter. Thankfully I was able to bring under control over the couple of days.
